Teflon coating also is known as anti-rust coating, applied to the body of Motorbikes. Teflon is chemically synthesized from a fluoropolymer. Teflon is a brand owned by Dupont but now has become generic to the category of PTFE paint sealants. This protects the motorbike’s paint and offers a brilliant glossy finish. Some of the properties of Teflon Coat includes provides protection from rust, offers protection is high as well as low temperatures, and protecting the paint for a longer time.

Teflon Coating Process

  1. Washing: The first step involved is washing your motorbike with shampoo to remove any dirt and debris. A water jet is used to remove the dirt under the mud-guard and places that are difficult to reach out.
  2. Polishing: Before polishing, the bike needs to be left for drying. In this process, the bike is applied with Amwax, Xcare or equivalent, to bring out the shine. This process shows the best results for old bikes, after polishing the bike paint develops a fine glossy finish.
  3. Teflon Coating: For the final, the tiny bottle of this pricey liquid, Teflon is applied to the surface of the body. It has a very pungent smell to it during the entire process. The smell, however, disappears once it is cured. A soft buffing wheel is generally used to apply the coat to the paint. Few more mins for it to dry and your bike is ready.


Do not Wash your Bike after Coating

We recommend you to not wash your bike with soaps or detergents as it damages the coating. We advise you to use a ph neutral shampoo to wash your bike.

  2. Enhanced Gloss: Teflon forms a protective covering that protects the polish under the coat to reduces the unevenness of the paint to result in a high gloss finish.
  3. Corrosion Protection: Due to its properties like high corrosion resistance, it also protects the bike’s metal from corrosion.


  1. Short Life Span: The Teflon coating generally lasts between 4-6 months and, needs to be redone. If you do not wish to invest in Teflon coating with this frequency, you can switch to hard wax for its cost.
  2. High Cost: Teflon coating your bike costs somewhere between ₹400-₹1000.
